摘要
网络趣缘社群生活已成为网民的一种日常经验。然而,社群自治规则如何形成及网民如何开展自我治理仍有待研究。不同于深受亲缘、业缘等既有社会关系影响的网络群组,网络趣缘社群凸显了兴趣共识,暂时隐去了现实差异,打开了社群自治的新面向,也为观察网络社群自治规则的形成与演化提供了新可能。本文以某知识趣缘微信群为个案,通过在线网络观察和访谈,揭示了中小型网络趣缘社群自治规则形成与演化的一种可能进程。研究发现,技术支持和“兴趣”吸引是个体聚集成群的基础,在互动中,角色权限的不同及个体参与的差异使得社群发生了层级分化。初始自治规则主要受社群兴趣、外部规范和社群管理员考量影响。关键事件下的群组协商、越轨认定及“例外”调用构成了三种规则演化的触发机制,社群管理员在这三种触发机制的推进过程中扮演了重要角色。此外,社群自治规则的演化也影响了群组的成员更迭、活跃情况以及层级结构。网络趣缘社群自治规则的演化过程为人们提供了网络空间中的自治经验,亦有助于反思网络社群自治的过程与可能。
Community life in online interest-based groups has become a daily experience for internet users.However,establishing group rules and engaging in self-governance within these communities still requires further research.Unlike traditional social communities influenced by family and professional relationships,interest-based online communities highlight shared interests and temporarily overlook real-life differences,opening up new possibilities for community self-governance and providing opportunities to observe the formation and evolution of online community rules.This article uses a WeChat group focused on knowledge interests as a case to reveal one possible process for the formation and evolution of rules within small to medium-sized online interest-based communities through online observation and interviews.The study found that the basic foundation for individuals to gather in groups is technical support and shared interests.Through interaction,differences in role permissions and individual participation lead to hierarchical differentiation within the community.Initially,the formation of autonomous rules is mainly influenced by community interests,external norms,and the considerations of community administrators.Triggered by key events,group negotiation,boundary-setting,and“exception”calls constitute the three mechanisms for rule evolution,in which community administrators play an important role.Additionally,the evolution of community self-governance rules also affects member turnover,group activity,and hierarchical structure.The evolution of online community self-governance rules provides people with experiences of self-governance in online spaces,helping us reflect on the process and possibilities of online community self-governance.
