With the development of modern information technology, network remote training has become a new mode of teaching, which is compatible with traditional teaching approaches, such as in-person teaching, correspondence teaching and self-study.It is also an optimized combination of various media that has been widely used in the standardized theoretical training of residents.Clinical operation skills are an important part of standardized training for residents.In-person training used to be adopted, but some hand-on operation courses could not be completed through network teaching. In early 2020,trainees could not receive in-person instructions in a classroom because of the coronavirus epidemic, which made the operation courses inaccessible. For the first time, the Orthopedics Department of the Third Hospital of Peking University tried remote network training. The residents were provided with 2-hour online training related to such clinical skills as bandaging, hemostasis, debridement, plaster fixation, fracture patient handling. In this paper, the process of remote network training of residents’skills was reviewed, and the effect of training was compared with previous in-person training. The advantages and disadvantages were summarized, and corresponding improvement measures were proposed. The prospects of network training of such clinical skills were also outlined.
