Objective To investigate the application value of enhanced recovery after surgery in men with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)who underwent holmium laser enucleation. Methods A total of 74 male patients with BPH after holmium laser enucleation who were admitted to our hospital from May 2019 to April 2021 were selected and divided into two groups according to the random number table method, with 37 cases in each group. The control group received traditional perioperative nursing, and the observation group received enhanced recovery surgery nursing, and all patients were observed until they were discharged from the hospital. The postoperative recovery, postoperative lower urinary tract symptoms, degree of pain, and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups. Results The first getting out of bed, first exhaust, bladder irrigation, and hospital stay in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, the postoperative lower urinary tract symptoms and pain were lighter than those in the control group, and the incidence of postoperative complications was lower than that in the control group, and the differences between the groups were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion Enhanced recovery after surgery can effectively improve the pain degree of male patients after BPH holmium laser enucleation, reduce postoperative lower urinary tract symptoms, and have less postoperative complications, worthy of promotion.
