摘要 Authors of the letter made an interesting and intriguing proposal: they introduce the concept that a child already affected by benign epilepsy with centrotemporal spikes (BECTS) when manifests contemporary or subsequent the symptoms of childhood absence epilepsy (CAE), he/she could be affected by an atypical form of BECTS, despite the fact that the coexistence of these idiopathic epilepsy remains controversial and has been rarely observed. BECTS and CAE could be pathophysiologically linked, possibly with an underlying genetic mechanism.
