摘要
澄江动物群是目前所知早寒武纪海洋生物分异度最大的化石组合.澄江动物群不但保存了生物的硬体部分,而且还保存了精美的动物软体组织.澄江动物群产生了包括脊椎动物在内的现今主要动物门和亚门的远古代表,以及为研究动物自上而下演化提供证据的绝灭门类.澄江动物群为早古生代生命强烈进化提供确实证据,是现今生物多样性的“根”.
The Chengjiang Fauna is the most diver se assemblage of Early Cambrian marine fossils known. The Chengjiang preserves not only fossils having hard skeletal parts, but also preserves in exquisite detail nonmineralized skeletal parts and internal soft parts of organisms.
