摘要
Oracle数据库是目前应用最广泛的数据库之一,基于Oracle数据库的大型应用对系统响应时间提出了越来越高的要求,如何有效地提高Oracle数据库的访问效率,减少系统等待时间成为一个热门的研究问题。文中介绍了OracleCallIn terface(OCI)技术及其新特性,并通过分析和对比ODBC,JDBC的实现机理,表明了OCI技术在访问Oracle数据库上性能的优越性。最后描述了OCI技术的编程机制,用OCI技术实现了访问Oracle数据库的典型应用,为OCI技术的应用提供了技术参考。
Oracle is one of the most popular databases. As the demand for a shorter response time in large applications based on Oracle database is increasing, how to shorten the response time and effectively access an Oracle database become a hot topic and gain our research interest. In this paper Oracle call interface (OCI) technology and its new features are introduced. The implementing mechanism of ODBC, JDBC and OCI are compared to show the better performance of OCI on accessing an Oracle database. Finally, the mechanism of OCI programming is particularly described and some typical functions implemented with OCI for accessing Oracle databases are provided for references.
