摘要
诺亚·韦伯斯特以民族主义为基点形成了其独特的公民教育思想。他主张通过开展公民教育来培养具有民族认同感和独立民族性格的公民。为此,他提出了以下教育思想:实现民族文化的独立,建立统一、纯洁的美国语言体系;建立公共教育体制,扭转教育的殖民性,实现教育本土化;以科学为教育基础,淡化教育的宗教色彩;开展道德教育。韦伯斯特的公民教育思想对美国公民教育的发展产生了深远的影响,但也具有一定的局限性。
Noah Webster formed his civic education theory based on nationalism.He advocated bringing up the citizen that having a sense of national identity and the independent national character through civic education.To this end,he proposed the following educational thought as achieving national cultural independence,establishing a unified and pure American language,developing language education;establishing public educational system,achieving educational localization;establishing the foundation of education of science,desalting religious color of education,twisting the colonial nature of education;developing moral education.Noah Webster's nationalist civic education ideology had a profound impact to the development of civic education in the United States,but it also has some limitations.
