作者对1997年5月在西安市召开的全国第八次科技翻译研讨会进行了扼要综述，对提交大会的主要论文篇名进行了简单介绍，对大会务实、求真的学术成果，进行了高度评价。
The auther has made a brief summay of the Eighth National symposium on Sci-tech Translation held in Xi'An City in May 1997. The article has made a simple introduction to the titles of the papers presented to the Conference and made a high apraisal of the rea1istic academic results of the Conference.
