AbstractThis paper attempts to apply some linguistic achievements to formal descriptions of bilin-gual dictionaries. It starts with the formal descriptions of entry structure in terins of informa-tion Theory in the Hallidayan sense, Rewriting Rule of TG Grammar, and flow chari in com-puter procedure designation ; then , on the basis of the pragmatic significance of English-Chinese dictionary compilation, it describes the dynamic relationship between micro-andmacrostructures of bilingual dictionaries.
