Located 5.4 km from the site of a Qi city, the tomb was excavated, for rescuing purpose, by the archaeologists from the Linzi Museum. The tomb belongs to the vertical earthen shaft type, and was provided with a secondary platform and contained a coffin with a corpse and a coffin chamber. Nearly three hundred funerary objects unearthed were or were made of pottery, bronze, iron, gold, silver, stone, jade, lacquer and bone, placed mainly on both sides of the coffin chamber or in between the coffin and coffin chamber, with jade articles within the coffin. Some of them are elegantly shaped. One of them is a bronze yi, whose sprout is in the shape of a hawk with its white peck holding a bead and eyes made of a black stone skirted with silver. Another one is a beautiful bronze lantern remarkable for its handle in the shape of a bird finely and vividly modeled. Many objects bear inscriptions, which together with the forms and decorations of the objects, provide a clue to the date and ownership of the tomb. The tomb should be dated somewhere between BC 266 and BC 221 ,i. e. ,the late Warring States period.
