Abstract The present paper discusses a recent philosophical point of view—deconstruction as it is applied in translation perspective. With particular emphasis on its forerunner Jacques Derrida, the author dwells on such aspects as différance, the definition of deconstruction in translation and renewal of translation through deconstruction, all of which he assumes will shed stimulating light on translation studies as a whole.
