摘要
一、前言 外语教学应该包括社会文化教学,这已经是外语教学界广泛接受的观点。拉多早在50年代就明确提出外语教学应包括文化教学,并提出了一个从形式、意义。
With data obtained from a socio-cultural test that the present author has administered, the paper presents the view that Chinese learners' socio-cultural competence is not satisfactorily developed. The paper suggests that the teaching of English be based on 'fields of discourse', or social activities, selected in consideration of the learners' needs for future interaction with native speakers.
