Measurement and prediction of energy expenditure of healthy Chinese

摘要 作者使用计算机控制的间接测热仪动态测量了34名健康青年人(男23名,女11名)的基础能量消耗(BEE)和静息能量消耗(REE).结果表明:男性 BEE 平均为6069.36kJ/d,女性平均为4631kJ/d,均明显低于 Harris-Benedict 公式预测的值(6755kJ/d和5137kJ/d),较近年来提出的 Owen 公式预测的值也稍低。这一研究结果与作者所在单位进行胃肠外营养的经验相符。由于应用国外传统公式会过高地估计中国人的能量消耗,而患者的能量代谢变化又较大,因此,在临床上对重危患者进行动态监测,以指导营养支持或代谢支持就更有重意义。 In this study,We evaluated the measured energy expenditure vs predicted energy expenditure in 34 healthy young adults.The resting energy expenditure (REE) and basal energy expenditure of 23 males and 11 females were measured by computerised indirect calorimetry.The results showed that the BEE of males (6 069kJ/d) and females (4631kJ/d) were significantly lower than Harris- Benedict equation.The Harris-benedict equation derived in 1919 overestimated measured BEE of the males by 10.1% and female by 12.4%.Considering the significant discrepancy between calculated BEE and measured BEE in healthy Chinese and the broad variance in energy requrement of critically ill patients,it is believed that caloric requirement is better measured than predicted.
