摘要
由于自身存在着自然资源、人口构成、经济特点、所在区域的制约等方面的脆弱性,新加坡认为要想生存就须借助外部大国的力量。新加坡从历史、平衡战略出发,认为美国对新加坡来说是一个相对亲善的国家。因此,美国成为新加坡"大国平衡"战略中最重要的一环,美国能帮助新加坡获得地区稳定,特别是能平衡中国崛起带来的冲击。于是,冷战后新加坡在军事上和经济上与美国开展了一系列的紧密合作,大大提升了自身的国际影响力。
Because of the vulnerability of natural source,composition of population,economic characteristics of Singapore and area's restraint,Singapore need to outsource the great powers in order to survival. In Singapore' s opinion,America is a nice and benign power in consideration of the history and Singapore's strategic of ' balance power'. So America is most important part in Singapore's strategic of ' balance power' and it can help Asia to have a stable situation,especially it can help Singapore to cope with the rise of China. So Singapore cooperated with America closely in military and economic field in Post-Cold War which extremely promoted its the international effect.
