摘要
学习成果评估是以改进教学为目的的系统收集、分析和使用学生学习信息的过程。美国大学学习成果评估现已成为美国高等教育质量控制的重点并为大学所广泛认同,评估的内部驱动力量明显增强,手段和方法日益多样,评估结果越来越多地被用于大学内部改进;但同时也面临着如何促进教师的积极投入、在改进和问责两种目的间取得平衡、促进大学评估结果的应用等挑战。其成功经验及面临的挑战值得中国大学借鉴和探索。
Learning outcomes assessment was the process of collecting,analyzing and using student learning information systematically for the purpose of improvement.American university learning outcomes assessment became the key of American higher education quality control,which was well recognized by the universities.The internal drivers of the assessment had increased significantly,the means and methods had become various,and the results had been applied for the internal improvement increasingly.Meanwhile,it had also faced such challenges as how to involve the faculty in learning outcomes assessment actively,how to balance the two different purposes between improvement and accountability,and how to promote the application of assessment results.Its successful experience and challenges were worth studying and probing for China's universities.
