摘要
近半个世纪以来 ,随着美国政治、经济、文化的迅速发展 ,美国英语已取代了英国英语在世界范围内的主导地位。同时 ,美国英语本身也有了空前巨大的发展变化。美国英语的发展变化主要体现在词汇上 ,其发展趋势为 :1 )各行各类的新词大量出现 ;2 )许多旧词的语义量不断扩大 ;3)词汇的拼写形式日趋简化。
American English has developed rapidly and changed a lot in the past few decades. The great change was mainly embodied in the words other than in grammar or pronunciation. The word change trends are toward three points: 1) Creating neologism. 2) Change of meaning. 3) Simplifying spelling.
