The role of high regioselective synthesis of para myrac aldehyde catalyzed by Lewis acids was investigated systemmatically. The optimal reaction conditions were obtained. In the presence of ZnCl_2 catalyst, at 30℃ for 6h, the yield of myrac aldehyde was 70% (mol) and the content of para myrac aldehyde was as high as 94%(p/m≥15). The reaction mechanism catalyzed by ZnCl_2 was studied by UV, IR and  ̄1HNMR methods. It was found that the carbonyl of acrolein complexing with Zn ̄(2+) made the C=C bond polarized, which increased its activity and enhanced the regioselectivity of para myrac aldehyde.
