In order to study the biomarkers of muscle damage induced by constrained body posture, an animal model of constrained posture was established in laboratory. The levels of whole blood lactic acid (LA),serum CPK, LDH and K+ were determined in different time. The results showed that the levels of serum CPK,LDH and K+increased significantly in the first day after being constrained (P<0. 01, P<0. 05);the level of blood LA was markedly high in the 7th week after being constrained(P<0. 05). The levels of serum CPK were all significandy higher than those of controls during whole experiment period. However, the levels of LDH and K+ resumed to preconstrained level. These results suggested that constrained body posture could cause muscle damage, and serum CPK could be considered as a biomarker of muscle damage induced by constrained body posture.
