Common Mode Fault Analysis （CMFA） is a method for assessing the reliability，safety and risk of large scale complicated systems， which is a complement to the FMEA and FTA，It discusses the relevant concepts and usual types of common mode faults， and presents the methods for calculating the probability of common mode fault to occur。
