On a mixed plate coated with microcrystalline cellulose powder and silica G(5: 2,W/W )two-dimensional development technique was used to separate the amino acids in Bos grunniens linnaeus horn hydrolysate. The two developing solvents were ①isopropanol/ethyl acetate/acetone/methanol/isopentanol/ammonia spirit/water (9:3:3:1:1:3:3, V/V) :②n-butanol/acetone/isopropanol/formic acid/water(9:4:4:1.5:3, V/V). The results showed that the horn contains 17 amino-acids. Total ammonia nitrogen content was 7.63 percent.
