摘要
美国作家威廉·福克纳的小说渗透着一种反思和批判现代工具理性的后现代精神，他的作品敏锐洞察了现代性之失蔽，对以现代性为特征的现代商业文明持一种批判和质疑的姿态；解构了美国南方社会贵族文化所代表的主流价值观，尤为关注处于社会边缘位置的弱势群体；其小说主题的不确定性也表现了对现代性所确立的绝对性和统一性的超越。
William Faulkner holds a critical and query attitude towards modernity. His works＇ keen observation of the defects of modernity, his attempt to deconstruct the values of American southern mainstream culture, and his innovation of breaking through the traditional novels＇ closed and unifying meaning and structure all manifest a kind of pcstnvdem spirit, which is an introspection and criticism of modem instrumental rationalism.
