Application of GPRS in remote terminals for automatic meter reading

摘要 通过对自动抄表系统的各种通信方式的比较和各种方式的优缺点的分析可知,目前自动抄表的主要问题在于传输的可靠性、承受价格及系统容量等问题难于同时得到解决.提出一种应用M-bus进行近程通信和GPRS进行远程数据通信相结合的新的设计方法.在介绍了GPRS网络结构和传输协议结构的基础上,着重讨论带GPRS Modem的远程抄表终端,给出了抄表终端的硬件、软件方案和测试结果.实测结果表明:抄收数据可靠、技术可行、价格合理,证明它是一种能解决自动抄表系统问题的有效途径. Currently, a main problem of the automatic meter reading system is that the transmission reliability, the cost and the capacity of the system cannot be solved effectively at the same time. By comparing and analyzing various communication methods used in automatic meter reading systems, a new design scheme is proposed in this paper, in which the local data communication with M-bus is combined with the remote data communication based on GPRS wireless net- work. The architecture of GPRS network topology and transmission protocol are introduced. A remote terminal with GPRS modem is mainly discussed. The hardware circuit, the software scheme of this terminal, and the testing results are presented. The test results show that the data from meter reading is reliable, the technology is feasible and the cost is reasonable. It will be an effective way for solving the problems mentioned above.
