Ritual study has gained abundant achievements in anthropological fieldwork, but meanwhile, it has also shown some kind of shortcomings, such as excessive attention to the phenomenon and the details, while interpretation of them is not enough; excessive description about the static present, while analyzing of the changing historical development is not enough. Based on this point of view, the writer of this article suggests making a geneticist study of the rites, so as to vividly sort out the ever appearing ritual concepts, and trace back the genesis of the rite and its historical evolution. By taking a case study of the Dionysian sacrificial rite of the ancient Greece, and analyzing the genesis of the rite and its historical evolution, this article tries to understand the patterns of the rites, its structure and function on an anthropological standpoint.
