摘要
翻译是涉及多种语言的文化交流活动。翻译要达意传神,同时还必须兼顾两种文化在交流中的相互渗透和相互兼容。林语堂的《浮生六记》英译本堪称中国古典文学的经典译作。其翻译策略和方法至今仍可资借鉴。
Translation involves cultural exchanges between two languages. As far as literary translation is concemed, it is very important to reproduce the meaning and spirit of the original, On the other hand, the consideration must be given to the integration and infiltration of the two cultures. Lin Yutang has done very well in his translation of Six Chapters of Floating Life and his successful reproduction is attributed to his good mastery of both English and Chinese and his profound understanding of eastern and western cultures as well. Even today there＇s much in Lin＇s translation that we can still make use of.
