Feature-based stamping process planning is to get the manufacturing processes of the part by use of reasoning techniques that regard feature as dealing cores and basic elements. In this paper, a frame structure of feature-based panel stamping CAPP system is proposed. The definition of process feature is given, the knowledge-based feature mapping approach is presented and the implemented procedure of feature mapping is described. At last, the reasoning procedure of feature-based stamping process planning is described by taking process model as operated object.
