摘要
本文探讨否定词的辖域、毗邻否定、否定与焦点之间的关系以及否定词"不"的句法特性,认为否定词"不"的辖域是它成分统制的VP,否定词"不"在句法上否定的是VP以及VP的中心语V^o,而不是对焦点或与否定词毗邻的VP嫁接成分进行单独否定。当否定词的辖域内有焦点时,否定词在语义上否定的是由不同焦点投射而成的焦点词组FP。据此分析,语义上的FP与句法上的VP形成对应关系,即FP=VP。文末对否定词的位置及其句法特性做了初步的理论探索,认为否定在现代汉语普通话中并没有一个独立的功能语类来实现。
This paper investigates the scope of negation,the interaction between negation and focus, and the syntax of the negative marker bu(不)in Mandarin Chinese.It claims that bu syntactically negates the VP,it adjoins to and may not negate any focus element beyond its VP scope.Following an analysis adopted by traditional Chinese grammarians,the paper treats bu as a VP adjunct which may not have a Neg functional projection in syntax.In its analysis of the interaction between negation and focus,the paper shows that when a negated VP contains a focus,what bu negates is not the relevant focus,but the FP(focus phrase) projected from the focus.
