CW Laser Induced Thermal and Mechanical Damage in Optical Window Materials

摘要 着重研究连续波激光对光学窗口材料的热-力破坏,由于激光对光学材料的不均匀加热,造成材料内部产生热应力,而加热的进一步发展,可诱发材料宏观破坏(熔融、炸裂),热-力破坏与激光辐照功率和材料本身热性质有关。 CW laser induced thermal and mechanical damage in optical window materials, such as the fused glass, K9 glass and MgF crystal, were investigated. Inhomogeneous absorptance will result in thermal stress in optical materials, which seriously induced macrodamage, fusion or fracture. Thermal and mechanical damage are related to laser power and thermal properties of materials. Ion exchange treatment was used to strengthen glass surface. The experimental results show that the ion exchange treatment is an effective method for protecting optical window material from CW laser induced thermal and mechanical damage.
