摘要
XMPP最终要实现不同即时通信系统间的互通。主要介绍对XMPP与其他IM互连互通的网关原理及其应用进行的研究讨论,并以jabber系统与MSN Messenger进行互发信息作为实例进行详细阐述。
XMPP （the eXtensible Messaging and Presence Protocol） is a XML-based communication protocol about instant messaging （IM）. One of its important advantages is that it can communicate with other IM by the gateway. The paper introduces XMPP ＇and its gateway working principle, and shows an example about jabber system sending and receiving messages with MSN messenger for explaining the process.
