Hydrophilic sodium quercetin monosulphate(Ⅰ) and disodium quercetin disulphate(Ⅱ) were synthesized and isolated.The inhibitory effects of (Ⅰ) on the growth of Leukemic cell lines HL 60 was similar to that of quercetin,but (Ⅱ) was inferior to quercetin.Sulfonic derivatives of quercetin showed more active than quercetin in arresting the HL 60 cell cycle progression at the G 2/M phase.
