The Effect of Social Participation of Old People on Their Mental Health

摘要 为探寻老年人社会参与与身心健康之间的关系,以增进对社会参与重要性的认识和把握,在南京市3个社区随机抽取238位老年人,采用症状自评量表(SCL-90)和自编"社会参与基本情况调查问卷"进行调查。结果显示,老年人社会参与率为42.4%;有社会参与老年人的心理健康水平高于无社会参与老年人,二者在SCL总分等8个方面存在明显差异;自评健康、社会参与和心理健康之间呈正相关。由此可见,社会参与对于提升老年心理健康水平具有积极作用。 To be well aware of the importance of social participation and make a full use of it, the paper studied what effect old people's social participation had made on their mental and physical health. 238 elders were sampled at random as the subjects from three communities in Nanjing, and the method was SCL- 90 and a self- made questionnaire. The research shows that about 42.4% of the elders enjoyed social participation, the mental health level of whom is higher than those who did not; there is a distinct difference between the two parts in 8 aspects including the SCL total. The positive correlation is obvious their self- felt health, social participation and their mental health. So, social participation is positive to the enhanc of elders' mental health.
