CALL Research Over 10 Years: Retrospective and Prospective Analyses

摘要本文对最近10年（1997—2006）刊登在10家中国外语类CSSCI核心期刊上有关计算机辅助英语教学研究的文章进行了统计与分析，总结出目前国内计算机辅助英语教学研究的特点：①进入21世纪以来，我国计算机辅助英语教学研究呈大幅度上升趋势；②从研究方法上看，非实证研究占绝对优势，但实证研究也有较为显著的增长；③从研究内容上看，主要涉及5大类，包括计算机辅助英语教学的理论探讨、课堂实践、计算机网络环境下的师生研究、计算机辅助语言测试、计算机多媒体网络技术与软件等。最后，文章分析了目前研究中存在的主要问题，并提出了相关的建议与对策。 This paper presents an overview of the development of CALL research in the past ten years （1997 - 2006）. Based on the previous studies published in the most influential ten foreign language journals in China, features and tendencies of CALL research are explored and summarized：（ 1 ） 21 century sees a steady increase of research in CALL; （2） In terms of research methods, non-empirical studies predominate over empirical studies, with the latter on a striking increase; （3） With respect to research areas, five are identified, namely, theoretical discussions relevant to CALL, classroom practice of CALL, the positioning of teachers and students in CALL, computer-assisted language testing, and the development of computer technologies and software. Finally, the problems in CALL research in China along with suggestions for further improvement are raised.
