Th cell polarization can be influenced by many factors, CD4^+ T cell may transform into multiple T cell subgroups exhibiting different immune functions. The balance of Th1/Th2 has direct effect on the type of immune response as it determines the development and the outcome of infectious diseases. When a host is infected with Plasmodium, antigen presenting cell (APC) and CD4^+ CD25^+ regulatory T cell interact with Th cell, affecting the expression of T-bet and GATA3, and resulting in altered differentiation trend of Th cell. This article summarized the changes in Th cell function and regulative mechanism in malaria infection.
