摘要
材料是建筑学的一个基本问题。早期现代主义建筑着重于探索新材料以其结构性能所带来的空间和形式潜力,材料的知觉属性则被有意压抑,当代建筑则呈现了依稀可辨的向着材料知觉性的回归,材料再次被显现与赞美。本文通过对于路斯、风格派、密斯、康、卒姆托等现当代建筑师及其作品的分析解读,呈现了材料显现的多重方式及其在概念和实践上的复杂性,以及材料主题的变更及其内涵的转换。通过对于这些历史片段的考察,作者认为,当代实践应该在材料的表面与结构之间,在材料与空间之间,在知觉与理性之间,寻求一种微妙而诗意的平衡。唯有如此,方能实现对于材料真正的赞美。
Material is one of the most basic and fundamental issues of architecture. While the early modernists concentrated on the new materials' potentiality of space and form creation with its structural capability and thus suppressed their other properties, the contemporary architecture displays a resurrection of material's perceptual property, and materiality is celebrated instead of being suppressed. With a study of the works of Adolf Loos, de Stijl, Mies van der Rohe, Louis Kahn and Peter Zumthor, this paper presents the multiplicity of material celebration strategy and the complexity in its conception and practice. By this observation, the author argues that a delicate and poetic balance is to be achieved between the surface and structure of material, between material itself and space, and ultimately between perception and reason, and onlythrough this manner could we celebrate matter in its true sense.
