The paper introduces the position, function and the mission of the shipboard gun weapon system, analyses the trend of the development. Along with the change of the position and function in the future battle on sea, gun weapon system will develop in projectile speed, accuracy, range of attack and effect. Some key technologies needed by the development are discussed.
