摘要
英、汉两种语言中存在着大量的禁忌语。禁忌既是各民族所共有的一种社会现象,也是一种普遍的语言现象和文化现象。文章从发展的观点勾勒出英汉禁忌语的演进,通过对英、汉禁忌语的对比,指出二者的不同,并肯定二者的趋同现象,以便于了解语言的文化内涵,避免交际失误,达到理想的交际效果。
A great number of taboos axe existing in English and Chinese. Taboo is not only a social phenomenon, but also a common linguistic and culture one. The thesis verges on the development of taboos, Through the conh＇asfing of two language, it reveals the differences and similarities, of their representation. A contrastive study of English and Chinese taboos will help beRer understand their respective cultural connotations, avoid communication failure and achieve idea commmdcative goals.
