2008年7月1日，国内大凡所有汽车开始正式实施国Ⅲ排放标准。这原本是—件利国利民的好事，出发点主要有2个：一是提高汽车尾气排放标准，降低污染；二是国Ⅲ发动机“应当”比国11发动机更省油。因此，相关部门坚决在2008年奥运会前强制实施国Ⅲ排放标准，但是，出于各种现实因素，或许很难实现预期目标，并有可能严重影响客车行业高速增长的发展趋势。
