摘要
在认知语言学界对象似性问题的研究中,人们发现文学文本中有不少文字符号具有象似性功能。本文通过分析英汉文学文本中的一些英语字母象似性符号和汉字象似性符号,对作者如何创造性地在文学文本中使用文字象似性符号,读者如何察觉文字象似性符号和其所示的言外之力以更好地解读文学文本这一问题进行探讨。
Recent findings in cognitive linguistic studies have shown that English alphabetic letters and Chinese characters have iconic functions in literary texts. This essay analyses and discusses the letter-icons and Chinese-character-icons used in English and Chinese literary texts so as to answer the question as to how authors creatively use these icons and how readers perceive them and their illocutionary force so that they can better understand the texts.
