Abstract The Public Health Act was firstly born in Britain in 1848,which is the starting point in terms of legalization of modern uirban development.But as a matter of fact,the first national law on urban planning in the world was produced in the early 20th century in Britain.This paper summarizes the evolution of the urban planning law under the market economy by recalling the history of urban planning law defelopment in the world,hopefully,if is of help for the building of our urban planning laws.
