基于闪耀光栅的可调谐Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+)共掺光纤激光器 被引量:5

Tunable Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+)Co-Doped Fiber Laser Based on Blazed Grating

摘要 报道了一种结构简单、调谐方便的宽带可调谐Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+)共掺光纤激光器。采用半导体激光二极管(LD)作为抽运源,以大模面积Er^(3+)/Yb^(3+)共掺双包层光纤为增益介质,利用闪耀光栅作为波长选择器件,实现了1550 nm波段稳定的可调谐激光输出,调谐范围达36 nm,几乎覆盖了整个荧光谱宽度。整个调谐范围内,输出激光线宽小于0.08 nm。输出功率随波长的变化而变化,在25 nm调谐范围内激光功率不低于40mW。波长为1543.86 nm时获得最大输出功率510 mW,斜率效率为26%。这种光纤激光器具有效率高、线宽窄、调谐范围大、输出稳定等优点,可用于密集波分复用(DWDM)光纤通信系统和高精度光纤传感系统。 A widely tunable Er^3+/Yb^3+ co-doped fiber laser with simple structure is demonstrated. Using a blazed grating as the wavelength selection element, and a semiconductor laser diode as the pumping source, stable tunable output laser in 1550 nm wave-band is obtained with large-mode-area Er^3+/Yb^3+ co-doped double-cladding fiber as the gain medium. The tuning range is 36 nm,covering almost the whole fluorescence spectrum. The linewidth is less than 0.08 nm for every tuned laser. For different wavelength, the output power is different, and the output power is higher than 400 mW within 25 nm tuning range. The maximum achieved power is 510 mW with the wavelength of 1543.86 nm and the calculated slope efficiency is 26 %. With wide tunable range and narrow linewidth, this stable efficient laser can be used in dense wavelength division multiplexed (DWDM) optical fiber communication systems and high resolution fiber sensor systems.
