摘要
在当前世界各国的图书馆学(协)会组织中,除了主流的图书馆协会外,也有少数图书馆学会。作为图书馆学学术共同体的图书馆学会,其主要功能在于开展学术交流,进行同行评议;作为行业代言人的图书馆协会则支持和维护图书馆员的利益,开展行业自律,与政府相博弈,获取社会资源,服务公众,承担社会责任,协调和促进图书馆事业和图书馆职业的发展。两者在各自任务和功能上难免重合交叉,但图书馆学会更专注图书馆学学术研究,偏重理论;图书馆协会侧重图书馆行业管理,更重实践。对我国而言,各级图书馆学(协)会可以根据实际情况选择合适的发展模式。
Library associations are the mainstream while the societies of library science are the few among the library associations and societies of library science in the world.As the academic communities of library science,the main function of the society of library science is issuing academic exchange with peer review while library association as the professional spokesmen,it supporting and maintaining librarian＇s benefits,carrying out the autonomic management,lobbying with government,obtaining social resources,servicing public,undertaking for social responsibilities to coordinate and promote the development of librarianship and library profession.The mission and the function of the society of library science and library association respective are inevitable superimposed,but the society of library science pays more attention to library science study focusing on the theoretical study while library association emphasizes on the management of library profession mostly concentrating on practice field.According to actual situation,societies of library science and library associations at all levels can choose appropriate development models in China.
