摘要
1935年3月8日,著名女影星阮玲玉自杀身亡,轰动社会。媒体迅速报道,引起一场大讨论。舆论从将其自杀归于个人的恩怨情仇,到说她是被封建主义毒害、被黑暗社会制度压迫而死,批判对象由个人延伸到社会,烘托出她被杀的弱者形象;同时,又说她是为妇女解放而牺牲,将她塑造成具有献身精神的新女性。对于预防自杀途径的探讨,舆论认为不但要有正确的人生观,而且要注重人际交流还有行业协会的建立及彻底的社会改造等。其自杀被演绎成具有丰富社会意义的重大事件,成为社会舆论言说妇女解放、社会改造等宏大时代主题的契机与符号。
On March 8,1935,the famous actress Ruan Lingyu committed suicide,which was a great shock to the society.The prompt report by the media caused a heated debate on the event.Some people attributed her suicide to the individual pains and sorrows;some held that she was oppressed and finally killed by the dark social system,that is feudalism.The target of the criticism soon extended from the personal factors to the social factors which made her image as the weak woman;at the same time,under the context of calling for the liberation of oppressed women,the critics considered that she sacrificed for women's liberation and therefore portrayed her as a dedicated new woman.In order to prevent suicide,the media deemed that not only the individual should have the correct outlook on life,but also the public should attach importance to the interpersonal communication,the establishment of relative associations,and radical social transformation.The essay concludes that Ruan Linyu's suicide was interpreted as a major event which was of immense social significance.It became a symbol of women's liberation,social transformation and other grand themes of the time,and provided the social media an opportunity to discuss those issues.
