智能公交系统是智能运输系统的重要组成部分之一。本文以日本为例，介绍了公共交通的使用者和经营者等不同主体对公交智能化的需求，智能公共交通系统的发展过程和趋势以及应用实例。
Abstract The Intelligent Public Transport
System (IPTS} is one of the important components of the intelligent Transport System. Taking
Japan as anexample, the present paper introduces the demand for IPTS by all kinds of entities
such as public transport users and operators, the developmentprocess and trend of IPTS, and its
applications.
