The basic principle of newly environment friendly green battery was introduced and its status and function in society were expounded. In addition, the developing trend of battery product and its related technique was indicated and the market prospect of green battery was analyzed. Moreover, the demand quantity of potable telephone and electric tools on high energy Li ion battery and Ni MH battery in China by the year 2000 were forecasted. Thereby, the suggestion on developing environment friendly green battery in China was made.
