This paper takes William Wordsworth's The Solitary Reaper as an example to illustrate that mental spaces are continuingly built and blended in the process of composing within the framework of Mental Space Theory(Fauconnier 1994,1997;Fauconnier Turner 2002).And the poem reflects the operations of mental spaces and conceptual integration transformed by language. The in-depth analysis of The Solitary Reaper indicates that his embodied and psychological experience of composing the poem keeps recurring vividly, together with a series of cognitive operations in his mind.
