Caught in the Web, a new film by renowned Chinese director Chen Kaige, focuses on the violence on the worldwide web, especially pertaining to ＂online human flesh searches.＂ A young woman, Ye Lanqiu （Gao Yuanyuan）, refuses to give up her seat on a bus to an old man. The gesture ignites a quarrel between Ye and other passengers. By chance, the event is videoed by Yang Jiaqi （Wang Luodan）, an intern reporter for a news show at the local TV station.
