Syntactic Analysis in the Translation of English for Biological Science

摘要普通高等院校面向生物技术、生物科学等本科专业开设生物专业英语,其根本目的是借以提高学生专业文献的阅读、翻译和写作能力。对专业文献进行句法分析是生物专业英语教学的重要内容,也是实现教学目的的重要途径。本文以具体实例,在对生物专业英语文献进行句法分析的基础上,探讨其相应的翻译技巧。 To enhance students＇ abilities to read, translate and write English of Biological Science （EBS）, many universities offer English for Biological Science to students of biotechnology and biological sciences. We be- lieve that syntactic analysis should be an important part of EBS teaching and also a useful way to realize the teaching purposes. This paper discusses, by way of examples, how such syntactic analysis can be preformed, and then presents some techniques for translating EBS.
