The shunt capacitor bank of reactive power compensation device in UHV AC system plays the role of improving voltage and power factor in high load transmission. The capacitor bank composes of a number of units and has high capacity, and directly affects the reliability and stability of reactive power compensation. Meanwhile, it also influences on the possibility and economic efficiency of high load transmission for UHV AC system.
