摘要
世界范围内口述历史的复兴以及对口头文化的重视,为图书馆这一保存人类记忆的"公共大脑"开辟了新的领地。引领图书馆发展方向的IFLA和UNESCO等国际组织在图书馆参与口述历史工作、收集口述资料等方面有着明确的立场。以美国为代表的国际图书馆界已经在口述资料的收藏方面取得了丰硕成果,国内图书馆界近几年也开始重视和涉足这一领域。开展口述资料收藏是图书馆的职责所在、发展所需,也是多媒体时代全方位满足用户需求的重要举措。
The revival of oral history all over the world and the vale of oral culture especially the oral tradition call for new missions of libraries which are usually regarded as the public brain for human memory. Many international organizations including IFLA and UNESCO have taken clear stand on libraries tak- ing their part in oral history and oral tradition collection development. More and more libraries at abroad have taken actions, especially in USA, while libraries in China have realized the importance of oral collections and got involved in recent years. Developing oral collections is not only the duty of libraries, but also an important measure for meeting the needs of all kinds of readers in the multi-media age.
