To meet the requirements of high energy and low signature for composite solid propellants, in recent years, the research of NEPE propellant in consideration of both energy and mechanical properties tailoring has made some progress. The paper reviews the newest technical ways for tailoring the mechanical properties of NEPE propellant, and makes theoretical analysis. The technical ways include tailoring the net and structures of the binder phase and adjusting the interaction between the filler and binder matrix etc.
