摘要
"气"与"道"是中国古代哲学中两个基本的概念范畴。从词义上和中国古代经典文献来分析,"大气"与"大学"、"大学之道"之间有着某种内在的关联性,大学从根本上来说就应该是"大气"的。"大气"是"大学之道"最内在的基本要求,是成就大学的基石。一所好的大学,不仅应有大楼,还要有大师,更要有"大气"。大学应当具有超凡脱俗的"大气节"、志存高远的"大气魄"、兼容并蓄的"大气量"、恢弘广阔的"大气度",才能称得上是"大气的大学"。
＂Ethos＂ and ＂moraltity＂ are two basic concepts in ancient Chinese philosophy category. From the meaning of the words and the ancient Chinese classic literature, there has the intrinsic connection among ＂generosity＂ , ＂university＂ , and ＂the essence of university＂ and university should be generous fundamentally. ＂Being generous＂ is the basic requirement of university essence and is also the cornerstone of university. Besides grand buildings and masters, a great university should have, a strong ethos of bein~ generous.
